It’s hard to believe that it’s already been 2 years since I first began this blog! There has been so many exciting things that have happened since that day that I opened up this page and began typing.
Here are a few things that have happened in my running life since I became a blogger 2 years ago:
- I had the opportunity to meet and run with Born to Run author Chris McDougall, his running coach Eric Orton and Ultra runner Scott Jurek.
- I ran my 1st (then 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th) half marathon.
- I ran my 1st marathon last year and my 2nd last month.
- I dealt with IT Band Syndrome and Plantar Fasciitis
- I lost 76 pounds!
- I broke my left arm while out on a training run at night and had to have surgery to have steel plate/screws placed in my arm.
- I was featured in a video series by Fitbie/MSN called Everyday Champions.
- I was in the Jan/Feb 2013 issue of Women’s Running Magazine in their Women Who Move section.
These are only a few things that have happened to me along this journey in the last couple of years. There have been ups and downs but I am thankful for everything that I’ve gotten to experience. (Except for the broken arm….I could have definitely lived without that, lol!)
What I’m most grateful for is 1.) being a healthier wife and mother 2.) the connections I’ve made through this blog and Facebook page. The running/fitness community is amazing and I have made great friends (online and out running) that I would have never met otherwise. I’m also thankful for all of you that follow my blog! I am constantly inspired and motivated by you!! I absolutely love the stories and pictures you share over on my Facebook page and love how you interact with and encourage each other.

I love the Race Bling holder. Sometimes it is all about the bling! Especially when that bling comes with meeting a long time goal.

Congrats! We have a growing bling collection going and they are hanging in various places in our bedroom, so this would be a huge blessing! I would have to go with the one without a girl…well, because I’m not a girl, LOL!

I would be very tempted to get the Runner with the winged foot. The winged foot was on our track sweatshirts when I went to high school (a long, long time ago!)

I would probably choose the winged foot display. My high school track team sweatshirt had a winged foot on the front, and it would remind me of that.

I love my Allied Medal display! I had a custom one done a couple of years ago, but it is all filled up!! This time around, I’d do “Always Earned, Never Given” one.

I think I would want “Runner Girl” or “Marathon”. I will be running marathons 8 and 9 this spring and probably need a special one for marathons. OR I would love to do a custom one that said “Mom to Marathon.”

Congrats on the blogiversary! I love their displays, and have been wanted one for awhile. I wonder if they’d do a custom “We Run Things” since I’d need to share it with my husband- even though his “bling” collection is smaller!
Congrats on two years.. I just ran my first marathon in January and are dealing with Plantar Faciitis.. Any good tips??
Stretching your foot helps. Also, rolling it on a frozen water bottle is very helpful too. I bought shoe inserts and it helped out with mine a great deal although I still have trouble with it from time to time.
I like the cycling one.
Such a tough choice, but probably the one about finishing strong. I have too many mantras to fit on one. Always thought it would be fun to have several (one for each member of our family) with a saying above it that the family that plays together stays together 🙂
SO hard to choose just one 🙂 but if I have to….Runner Girl (pink of course ;)) OR Think Strong, Be Strong, Finish Strong – because the mental game is sometimes more than half the battle. 😛
