It’s been a little over a week since this jaunt.
I followed Gary, Mt. D co-race director Mike Malinin and Mt. D webmaster Fausto Rolan up the Mt. Wilson Trail to the bench, an arduous 11+ mile round-trip. Not sure what I expected - maybe lots of resting, being supportive, etc. What I got was my ass kicked.

Sorry to have been so long getting this one together. A mandatory software upgrade (thanks Steve Jobs) took a while to sort out.
Gary is improving in leaps and bounds. It’s literally becoming hard to keep up with him. Just like old times…

8 weeks in, a clarification:
Gary’s intention is not just to run the Badwater 135 . He’s going to do the Furnace Creek 508 as well. This is the Death Valley Cup (not, as I mistakenly called it in this 3rd film, the Death Valley Double ). It is very difficult.
